Country Paws began in 1998 with a simple idea: dogs deserved better.

Husband and wife team, Michelle and Jaymie Crook opened Country Paws Boarding with a passion for creating a place where dogs could be cared for like family — somewhere they could play, socialize, explore and feel at home while their people were away.

What started as a local boarding facility would become the beginning of a much bigger journey. One built around dogs, their people, and a constant desire to rethink what pet care could be.

After almost 10 years of caring for their four-legged guests, Michelle thought they deserved something special duing seasonal times, especially for birthdays and Christmas time. So, she began making gourmet cookies and frozen treats for the dogs staying at Country Paws.

Those treats quickly became a favourite — and Bosco and Roxy's was born.

What began as treats made for Country Paws guests soon found their way into local pet stores, then major retailers, tourist destinations and eventually across borders into the United States and United Kingdom.

Over the years, Jaymie and Michelle grew their little dog-cookie idea into an international pet treat business, proudly built right here in London, Ontario, now permanently living in a custom manufacturing facility spanning more than 80,000 square feet.

Bosco and Roxy's merged with a U.S.-based  company, Treat Planet, and joined a growing family of premium pet treat brands.

For Jaymie and Michelle, it created an opportunity to return their focus to where their story had started almost three decades earlier: 

Taking care of dogs.

But they weren't interested in simply going back to what Country Paws had been. They wanted to build what they always believed it could be.

After nearly 30 years of caring for dogs, Jaymie and Michelle created a new kind of destination built around dogs—and their humans.

The DogPlex brings daycare, boarding, grooming, veterinary care, a café, retail market and 3-acre Adventure Park together in one place.

More than a dog daycare or boarding facility, it’s the next chapter of a family business dedicated to making life with dogs even better.
