Accessibility Policy

Our Commitment

Country Paws DogPlex is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible environment for our customers, employees, visitors and members of our community.

We are committed to meeting the accessibility needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner and to identifying, preventing and removing barriers to accessibility wherever possible.

Country Paws DogPlex strives to provide its services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities and supports the principles of integration and equal opportunity.

This policy has been developed in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR).

Accessible Customer Service

Country Paws DogPlex is committed to providing excellent service to all customers, including people with disabilities.

We will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take their individual needs into account and will make reasonable efforts to ensure our goods, services and facilities are accessible.

Assistive Devices

People with disabilities are welcome to use their own assistive devices when accessing our services and facilities.

Where appropriate, our team will work with customers to identify alternative ways of accessing a service if an assistive device presents a barrier.

Service Animals

People with disabilities who are accompanied by a service animal are welcome in areas of our premises that are open to the public, except where service animals are otherwise excluded by law.

If a service animal cannot access a particular area, Country Paws DogPlex will work with the individual to determine an appropriate alternative way to provide access to our services.

Support Persons

A person with a disability who requires the assistance of a support person may be accompanied by that person while accessing Country Paws DogPlex.

Where admission fees or other charges may apply to a support person, we will provide information about those fees in advance.

Communication and Accessible Information

Country Paws DogPlex will communicate with people with disabilities in a manner that takes their accessibility needs into account.

Upon request, we will provide or arrange for information and communications to be provided in an accessible format or with appropriate communication supports.

We will consult with the person making the request to determine a suitable accessible format or communication support.

Accessible formats and communication supports will be provided in a timely manner and, where applicable, at a cost no greater than the regular cost charged to others.

Website Accessibility

Country Paws DogPlex is committed to improving the accessibility of our website and digital content.

Where required under the AODA, our public-facing website and web content will conform with applicable requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

We will continue to identify and address digital accessibility barriers as our website and online services evolve.

If you experience difficulty accessing information on our website, please contact us so we can work with you to provide the information in an alternative format.

Temporary Service Disruptions

If there is a temporary disruption to a facility, service or feature that people with disabilities rely on to access our services, Country Paws DogPlex will provide notice where reasonably possible.

The notice may include:

  • The reason for the disruption
  • The anticipated duration of the disruption
  • Information about alternative facilities or services, if available

Notice may be provided on our website, at our facility or through another appropriate communication method.

Employment and Accommodation

Country Paws DogPlex is committed to fair and accessible employment practices.

We will notify employees and job applicants that accommodations are available for people with disabilities during the recruitment and employment process.

Where an employee with a disability requires accommodation, Country Paws DogPlex will consult with the employee and provide appropriate accommodation in accordance with applicable accessibility and human rights requirements.

This may include accessible workplace information, individualized accommodation plans and individualized workplace emergency response information where required.

Accessibility needs will also be considered in applicable performance management, career development, advancement and redeployment processes.

Country Paws DogPlex will provide appropriate accessibility training to employees, volunteers and other individuals as required by the AODA and IASR.

Training may include:

  • The purposes of the AODA and applicable accessibility standards
  • Accessible customer service
  • How to interact and communicate with people with various types of disabilities
  • How to interact with people who use assistive devices, service animals or support persons
  • Applicable requirements of the Ontario Human Rights Code as they relate to people with disabilities

Country Paws DogPlex welcomes feedback about the accessibility of our services, facilities and customer experience.

Customers may provide feedback or request accommodation by contacting us by phone, email, in person or through another available communication method.

We will ensure that our feedback process is accessible to people with disabilities and will provide or arrange accessible formats and communication supports upon request.
