Multi-Year Accessibility Plan 2026–2031

Introduction

Country Paws DogPlex is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive environment for our customers, employees, visitors and members of our community.

This Multi-Year Accessibility Plan outlines the steps Country Paws DogPlex will take to identify, prevent and remove barriers for people with disabilities and to meet our obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR).

This plan covers the period from 2026 to 2031 and will be reviewed and updated at least once every five years.

We believe in integration and equal opportunity and are committed to meeting the accessibility needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner.

Accessibility will be considered as we develop and improve our services, facilities, employment practices, communications and digital experiences.

1. Accessible Customer Service

Ongoing Actions

Country Paws DogPlex will:

  • Provide services in a manner that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities.
  • Welcome customers who use assistive devices.
  • Welcome service animals and support persons in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Communicate with customers in ways that take their accessibility needs into account.
  • Provide notice of temporary disruptions to accessible services or facilities where appropriate.
  • Maintain a process for receiving and responding to accessibility-related feedback.
  • Review customer service practices as our facility and services evolve.

2. Accessible Information and Communications

Country Paws DogPlex will work to ensure that information and communications are accessible to people with disabilities.

Actions

We will:

  • Provide or arrange for accessible formats and communication supports upon request.
  • Consult with the person making the request to determine an appropriate accessible format or communication support.
  • Provide accessible information in a timely manner and at no additional cost beyond any regular cost charged to others.
  • Ensure our customer feedback processes are accessible.
  • Consider accessibility when creating digital, printed and customer-facing communications.
  • Continue to improve the accessibility of our website and online services.

3. Website and Digital Accessibility

Country Paws DogPlex recognizes that our website, online booking tools and digital communications are important parts of the customer experience.

Actions

We will:

  • Work toward maintaining our public-facing website in accordance with applicable AODA web accessibility requirements.
  • Consider accessibility when publishing new website content, images, documents and digital materials.
  • Use descriptive alternative text for meaningful website images where appropriate.
  • Maintain clear page structures, headings and readable content.
  • Review colour contrast, navigation, links and other accessibility considerations when website updates are made.
  • Work with third-party digital service providers to encourage accessible customer experiences wherever possible.
  • Provide alternative ways of accessing information when a digital barrier cannot immediately be removed.

Timeline

Accessibility will be considered as part of website maintenance and future website updates throughout 2026–2031.

4. Employment Accessibility

Country Paws DogPlex is committed to accessible and inclusive employment practices throughout the employment lifecycle.

Recruitment

We will inform employees and applicants that accommodations are available during the recruitment and selection process.

If an applicant requests accommodation, we will consult with them to determine appropriate support.

Employee Accommodation

We will:

  • Inform employees about policies supporting employees with disabilities.
  • Provide accessible formats and communication supports for workplace information upon request.
  • Develop individualized accommodation plans where required.
  • Provide individualized workplace emergency response information where required.
  • Consider accessibility needs when managing performance, career development, advancement and redeployment.
  • Maintain appropriate processes to support employees returning to work following a disability-related absence.

Ongoing throughout 2026–2031.

5. Accessibility Training

Country Paws DogPlex will provide accessibility training as required to employees, volunteers and other individuals who provide goods, services or facilities on behalf of the organization.

Training Will Include, Where Applicable:

  • The purpose of the AODA.
  • Accessible customer service requirements.
  • Applicable requirements of the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation.
  • Relevant requirements of the Ontario Human Rights Code as they relate to people with disabilities.
  • How to interact and communicate with people with different types of disabilities.
  • How to interact with people who use assistive devices, service animals or support persons.
  • Country Paws DogPlex accessibility policies and procedures.

Training will also be provided when significant changes are made to applicable policies or practices.

Country Paws DogPlex will maintain records of required accessibility training.

Timeline

Training will be provided to applicable team members and maintained on an ongoing basis throughout 2026–2031.

6. Physical Accessibility and Public Spaces

Country Paws DogPlex will consider accessibility when maintaining, constructing or redeveloping public areas of our facility.

Actions

Where applicable, we will:

  • Maintain accessible elements of our facility.
  • Consider accessibility when planning renovations or redevelopment.
  • Follow applicable AODA Design of Public Spaces requirements for new construction or significant redevelopment.
  • Identify physical barriers and consider practical options for removing or reducing them.
  • Provide alternative access to services where reasonable when a physical barrier cannot immediately be removed.
  • Respond appropriately to temporary disruptions affecting accessible areas or services.

Timeline

Ongoing and as renovations, redevelopment or facility improvements occur.

7. Identifying and Removing Barriers

Country Paws DogPlex will continue to review its operations to identify potential accessibility barriers.

These may include:

  • Physical barriers
  • Communication barriers
  • Digital or technological barriers
  • Attitudinal barriers
  • Employment-related barriers
  • Policies or procedures that unintentionally create barriers

Where barriers are identified, we will consider reasonable measures to prevent, reduce or remove them.

8. Feedback and Continuous Improvement

Feedback plays an important role in improving accessibility at Country Paws DogPlex.

Customers, employees and members of the public are encouraged to let us know if they encounter an accessibility barrier or have suggestions for improving accessibility.

Feedback will be reviewed and addressed as appropriate.

Country Paws DogPlex will continue to consider accessibility when introducing new services, technologies, processes and facility improvements.

9. Review of This Plan

This Multi-Year Accessibility Plan will be reviewed regularly and formally updated at least once every five years.

Our next formal review will take place no later than 2031.

Updates may also be made sooner if our operations change, new accessibility barriers are identified or accessibility requirements change.

Accessible Formats

This Multi-Year Accessibility Plan is available in an accessible format or with communication supports upon request.

We will consult with the person making the request to determine a suitable format or support.
